Fablewyn is a narrative game that generates interactive stories using artificial intelligence. This privacy policy explains what data the app does and does not collect when you use it.
Information We Collect
Fablewyn does not require accounts and does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or contact information. The app does not maintain any user database or cloud profile system.
AI Story Generation
When you generate a new story, the app sends a request to an external AI service operated by Anthropic to generate story content. This request may include:
- Story prompts
- Generation parameters (such as story length)
- Narrative context required to produce the story
Your device's IP address may be visible to Anthropic as part of the network request, as is standard for internet communication. Anthropic processes this request according to their own privacy and data policies. Fablewyn does not store or control data processed by Anthropic's systems.
Local Storage
Fablewyn stores the following information only on your device:
- Generated stories
- Story progress
- Unlocked endings
- Game preferences
This information is stored locally to allow you to continue stories and track your progress. Fablewyn does not upload or synchronize this data to any server. If you uninstall the app, this locally stored data may be deleted.
Analytics and Tracking
Fablewyn currently does not use analytics, tracking tools, advertising identifiers, or behavioral monitoring. The app does not track how you play stories or collect usage metrics.
Data Security
Because story data and progress are stored locally on your device, you retain control over that data. No central database of player information exists. However, no software system can guarantee absolute security. Use of the app is at your own discretion.
Children's Privacy
Fablewyn is not directed at children under the age of 13. Because stories are generated by AI, content may vary and is not individually reviewed.
Changes to This Policy
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time if features of the app change. Updates will be reflected by revising the effective date at the top of this document.
AI-Generated Content Disclosure
Stories in Fablewyn are created by the Claude AI model provided by Anthropic. Because the stories are generated automatically:
- Story quality may vary
- Content may occasionally contain errors, inconsistencies, or unexpected themes
- Stories are not individually reviewed or edited by a human
To help maintain a playable experience, generated stories are automatically validated by the app to ensure they follow a correct interactive structure. However, narrative content itself is not moderated beyond automated safeguards.
