Trailbound respects your privacy. This app is designed to work offline and does not collect or share personal data.
Information We Collect
Trailbound accesses location data solely to provide core app functionality: recording GPS tracks when you start a recording, and displaying your position on the map during use. Location is accessed only while you're actively using the app or recording a track. Trailbound does not track your location in the background unless you explicitly enable background recording.
How Your Data Is Used
- Location data is used only on your device
- Recorded tracks are stored locally on your phone
- Trailbound does not transmit your location data to any servers
Data Sharing
Trailbound does not:
- Share data with third parties
- Use analytics or tracking
- Display ads
- Collect personal identifiers
- Require an account or login
Your data stays on your device unless you choose to export it.
Permissions
- Location — required to record and display tracks
- Background location — optional; allows recording while the screen is off or the app isn't visible
- Notifications — only for the ongoing-recording notification during active tracking
Permissions are requested only when needed and can be changed anytime in your device settings.
Data Retention
All recorded data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Children's Privacy
Trailbound is not designed for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If Trailbound's data practices change, this policy will be updated.
